           This month Charmaine Marchand with Fleur De Legal gave our New Orleans residents an informative presentation on how they are striving for change in the city of New Orleans. Regional Transit Authority (RTA)

         Barbara Major, Former Chairwoman of the RTA graced the Lower Ninth Ward community with her presence to give an in depth presentation on what the Regional Transit Authority is offering the community and what they are doing to make our bus routes more efficiency and affordable. 2013 Hurricane Preparedness 

Maureen Gallagher with American Red Cross presented to the Lower 9th Ward Community an informative, yet dazzling presentation about how better prepare yourself for our upcoming 2013 Hurricane Season. Annie Williams with Alliance for Affordable Energy shared with us their new and improved Intergrated Resource Plan. There was also an in depth conversation about how NENA could represent the neighborhood better and what we could do as a community to make it happen. DID YOU KNOW... 

 

·         The  U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has approved NENA to be a Housing Counseling Agency.

·         You can register for disaster food stamps at NENA. One of our trained staff members will assist you.

·         Dr. King Charter School was the first school to open in the Lower Ninth Ward after Hurricane Katrina.

·         NENA Community Meetings are scheduled every second Saturday of the month.
